EUCC has created a 'Marine Team' for its staff and active members to share knowledge on the exciting challenges arising from the developing EU marine and maritime policies and programmes. This initiative has been taken in the context of EUCC’s role of Secretariat of the Venice Platform and as a member of the emerging European marine science forum.
Team members aim to keep each other up-to-date on major developments, through the participation in events throughout Europe (by its members), and share event-related information as a team and by following key publications. Marine experts applying for membership of the team are requested to indicate the field(s) in which they work:

• the emerging Integrated Maritime Policy;
• the implementation of the Bird and Habitats Directive (Natura 2000) at sea;
• the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD);
• Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP);
• sustainable fisheries in connection to the 2012 CFP Reform.
